Belleville Area EMS is pleased to announce Jamie Stephenson as the first full-time Chief for the department. Jamie has been a Paramedic for over ten years and previously served as the Director for Albany Area EMS. In the fast paced, ever evolving environment that is prehospital care, Jamie brings experience in administration and management and is recognized as a leader in the field of prehospital emergency medicine.

Jamie is an EMT instructor for the Public Safety Program and a CPR Instructor for Blackhawk Technical College. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin EMS Association and as an Advocacy Coordinator for the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians. The duties of the new Chief will include providing direct medical care, supervision and high quality training of department members, volunteer recruitment and retention as well as administrative functions.

Hiring Jamie Stephenson as the first full time Chief, with his proven abilities, leadership and experience, will enhance the quality of emergency medical care provided to our community in a caring, compassionate and effective manner.

Established in 1976, Belleville Area EMS covers 75 square miles and includes the village of Belleville, Township of Montrose and portions of Brooklyn, Exeter, Oregon and Primrose townships. The department also responds as mutual aid into surrounding communities and is part of a Strike Team and a Task Force Team which are called into service for major emergency incidents. In 2019, Belleville Area EMS responded to approximately 350 emergency calls. The unit currently has over 40 volunteer members consisting of Emergency Medical Technicians and Drivers.
