Holiday Spirit in New Glarus With Adventsfensters

The window reveals for the Adventsfensters wrapped up on December 24th. The project became very popular in New Glarus and there was even a TV crew from WISC Channel 3, in attendance for the window unveiling at Tofflers.
Beginning December 1st, downtown New Glarus was decorated with a life-size Advent Calendar. Every evening, through December 24th, one window was unveiled. Many locations offered treats, beverages, music and other surprises for the night of their unveiling.
Adventsfensters are common in the smaller towns and villages in Switzerland, and New Glarus resident Jacqueline Judd wanted them to become a yearly feature during the holidays in New Glarus. She said she wasn't sure how the idea would go over and didn't know if anyone would even show up for revealing of the windows. People came, some evenings there were many people and some there were just a few.
It appears that the village of New Glarus really enjoyed the traditional nature of the event.
