Relay For Life Coloring Contest

June 7, 2018

This year’s Relay For Life of Green County event will be held on Saturday, June 23, from 1:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., at SLICE in Monroe. “Be a Superhero” is the theme and all activities, campsites and laps will be focusing on this. A new youth activity is a coloring contest to help them learn about cancer and share their talents in the fight against it. Many youth have family members or friends who have been affected and part of this activity is to provide a way for them to learn about what cancer is, prevention guidelines, and how to deal with cancer when it affects them or a loved one.

Age Categories include 5 and under, 6-9, 10-13 and 14-18.

Participation Rules:

Entries should be on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper and focus on their interpretation of our theme to “Be a Superhero” and fight cancer.

Entries can be done in ink, crayon, paints or other art mediums.

The side that has the artistic entry should just have the student’s first name and age.

Detailed information should be on the backside of the entry and include: Student’s name, age, parent’s names, address and a phone number. Please print legibly so we can properly identify the youth!

Entries should not be computer generated and should reflect the youth’s individual talents!

Entries are due postmarked on June 11, and should be mailed to Darlene Arneson, 2056 Skaalen Road, Stoughton, WI 53589.

Other details:

By entering, all entries become the property of the Relay For Life of Green County and can be used in all social media, publicity, and use by the event.

Judging will be done prior to the event and all entries will be displayed at the event.

Winners will be announced during a presentation at 6:00 p.m., at the Relay For Life event.

Prizes will be awarded for the first and second place entries!

Entries can be picked up at the event after 8:30 p.m., so they can be enjoyed by the participants

For ideas:

Consider the power of superheroes and how they can use their powers to fight cancer.

Youth can learn more about cancer by visiting http://www.cancer.org.

Youth might also want to consider using some of the “colors of cancer”. There are numerous online lists that show what color represents various types of cancer.
