In early November, 15 students from surrounding fire departments completed RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) training. A RIT is a group of firefighters dedicated to the safety of firefighters working within a hazardous situation such as a building fire. Firefighters from Brooklyn, Juda, Monticello, and New Glarus completed 30 hours of classroom instruction, a written test, and six hours of practical testing.
