This photo is of a homing pigeon (Wisconsin Arrow/362 AU 07 GAR) that arrived first (of 1,062 Birds released simultaneously) on a 500-mile race from Ohio to Pennsylvania in 2010. The father (sire) of this bird belonged to Mr. Davison.
The Monticello Area Historical Society (MAHS) will meet at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 24, 2017, in the Zwingli United Church of Christ Sanctuary, 416 E. Lake Avenue, Monticello.
Pigeons: White, racing, homing pigeons are Gary Davison's passion. Davison, of rural Monticello, will discuss the history of pigeons, breeding, training and racing.
This is a free presentation and will start about 7:15 p.m., after the regular meeting of the MAHS. Come join us; the public is welcome.
