HARRIET W. KLOSSNER
Harriet Wilma Klossner, age 85 of New Glarus, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at the New Glarus Home. She was born on October 1, 1931, in New Glarus and was raised by her adoptive parents, Gilbert and Jeanne (Meyer) Koprud.
Harriet graduated from New Glarus High School in 1949. On March 11, 1950, she was united in marriage to John Klossner. Harriet was a housewife, mother, and farmer. She also worked at the Swiss Colony and sold Stanley Home Products for many years. Harriet was a member of the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus, the Women of the Moose, Monticello Lioness, Women's Relief Corps, and New Glarus Homemakers. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, playing solitaire, and watching baseball and football.
Harriet is survived by her children, Barbara Waters, Deborah Stampfli, Richard (Roxanne) Klossner, David (Jill) Klossner, and Karen (John) Gierhart; grandchildren, Laura Luedke, Jeremy Stampfli, Roger Stampfli Jr., William Luedke, Rory Klossner, Kristin Klossner, Jenelle Sutter, Larissa Gafner, Casey Klossner, Allen Gierhart, Kathleen Gierhart, Karlie Klossner, Samantha Gierhart, and Claire Klossner; great-grandchildren, Logan Stampfli, Slade Luedke, Ryker Luedke, Olivia Klossner, and Sydney Klossner. Harriet is further survived by her sisters, Ina Mayer and Margaret Olsen; sister-in-law, Betty Gill; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; infant sons, Peter and Paul; grandson, John Klossner; brother, Robert Gill; and a sister, Lorene Carpenter.
Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m., on Monday, January 2, 2017, at the Swiss United Church of Christ, 18 Fifth Avenue, New Glarus, WI, with the Rev. Kim Moeller and Pastor Mary Gafner officiating with burial in the Swiss Church Cemetery.
Relatives and friends called from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Monday, January 2, 2017, at the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus.
