Honoring a Veteran on her 95th Birthday
On Saturday, November 12, Betty Gill celebrated her 95th birthday with friends and family. During the birthday celebration she was surprised by members of the Quilts of Valor Foundation who presented her with a beautiful handmade quilt.
Betty served as a U.S. Marine from 1943-1945, during WWII. She was stationed in El Centro, California, where her primary duties were as a telephone operator. Betty met her husband, Bob, while serving in the military, he was in the Army Air Corps. The couple's Oklahoma City wedding saw them both wearing their military uniforms.
