Monticello 2016 Homecoming Successful Because of You
Submitted by Friends of the Monticello Public Library Homecoming Committee
Planning and conducting festivals involves many members of the community. This helps build a community, promotes community pride and engages the community. Monticello Homecoming is one of those great festivals that build hometown pride.
The Friends of the Monticello Public Library would like to say thank you to the Monticello Community Club and the Village of Monticello for sponsoring this annual festival.
We are grateful for the positive support received from the community to help make our Homecoming fund-raiser successful. We would like to thank the following people for their generosity: Pat Wichersham, Barb Gietzel, Linda Marty, Steve Scanlan, Karen Brugger, Sharon Knight, Jacque and Ginger, Stan May, Cathy, Carl, Lucas and Michael Fink, Chris and Peter Blumer, Carolyn Meyer, Carolyn Hilliard, Janet Jones, Nancy Briggs, Katie Boone, Zoe Buehl, Nancy Aquino, Marlis Silver, Shirley Kummer, Sharon Briggs, Elaine Pence, Emily Love, Jacque Witt, Jane Smith, Carolyn Schwartzlow, Linda Magnusson, Mychael, Anne, Karl and Evan Schultz, Kay and Terry Argue, Lynn Witt, Jeanne Tallman, Doug and Carolyn Seaver, and Todd and Leslie Brugger.
As Helen Keller said “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much,” so thank you all for doing so much to make the Friends’ Food Stand such a success.
We would also like to thank the athletes and spectators for your patronage. This fundraiser allows the Friends to support the Monticello Public Library by contributing to the Summer Reading Program and purchasing new materials and supplies needed to make the Library a great place to visit.
The Friends’ next meeting will be held Wednesday, August 10, at 5:30 p.m. If you would like to join the Friends, we would welcome you to attend the next meeting. Meetings are held at the Monticello Public Library quarterly.
