Learn About Origami at Belleville Public Library

Saturday, February 13, at 10:00 a.m.

 


World-renowned artist Ruthanne Bessman will share the history of origami and teach attendees how to fold several different animals and designs that can be used as stationery, gifts and decorations. A variety of papers will be used, with an emphasis on reusing everyday materials.

Ruthanne Bessman is certified as an origami instructor by the Nippon Origami Association in Japan and has taught origami worldwide since 1987. Her work has been displayed in exhibitions and permanent collections both locally and abroad. She was the featured artist at the grand opening of the Overture Center for the Arts in Madison.

This free workshop is made possible through a grant provided by the Beyond the Page Endowment, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Madison Community Foundation.
