Road Rally 2015
Saturday, November 7th, mark your calendars. We will meet you at The Station on River Street at 8:00 a.m. Please do not park there until after 7:00 a.m. that morning. Please line up as you arrive, in order. And please meet us in order at the registration table to register.
Planning is coming along. We spent quite bit of time in the car today. We should video us when we get out of the vehicle after that many hours. It would be a hoot!! We saw some color change, especially amongst the sumac!! We found some great things for you to notice and find, and figure out, and decipher! We saw an amazing and beautiful rocky outcropping! I took pics of it. I would put it in the paper if I knew how to get it from the phone to the paper. Learning…slowly…about the phone. More functions are being used and realized!
Margie joined us today for fun, or bickering, or agreeing to the fact that we each have our very OWN opinion. I bet none of you endure that problem on your day of fun once you sign up for the challenge. We did make lots of progress and we are soon going to finalize the entire route!
We will be doing lots more driving as we have not taken the time to count balls as yet as there is SO much else to find and use. Also, the language we use to give you direction is also a big job. It is like a novel; many rewrites. My pencils are holding up, but three or four of them have no eraser left on them. Barb went to get a drink of water today and narrowly escaped a trip to urgent care as she was imbedded into the extremely sharp tip of one of the pencils I brought along. I am very happy with my electric pencil sharpener; because it does a great job but she is not so happy with that and it was a few minutes before the pain subsided. It was an accident, I swear.
Each year I suggest you pack some grub, some water, as we have been known to take you into the boondocks and to maybe some places where you can’t find facilities. That also means you should probably have a FULL tank of gas as it might be a long day, or a short day. We can’t let you know that, but it is important to be prepared! We hope you have been gathering your team. It should be a group of people that can put up with each other for some stress, some angst, some bullying, some disagreeing, some fun, some giggles, some smarts, and a good sense of humor would probably help as well. It can’t hurt you! A spotlight might help in case it takes you a very long time to figure it all out but we hope you all finish and show up at the end with a huge smile to greet us!
You will hear from us next week as well. Please share all the info so many more can join in the adventure!
