Dane County Fair Welcomes Clydesdale Congress
The Dane County Fair is excited to welcome the 2015 Clydesdale Youth/Novice Congress as a new event held during this year’s Fair.
The Congress is a brand new event put on by the Clydesdale Breeders of the U.S.A., and will focus on educating Fair attendees and exhibitors about Clydesdales and the horse industry.
“The Congress provides Dane County Fair attendees with a unique experience that isn’t offered at any other county fair in the area,” said Scott Bentley, Dane County Fair General Manager. “It’s a must-see for everyone at this year’s Fair.”
The Congress will offer hands-on learning through educational seminars, including fitting and grooming, driving and harnessing, riding, general care, breeding and reproduction, nutrition and feeding, and conformation and judging.
“The Dane County Fair is a perfect partner for the Congress as it specializes in agriculture and youth exhibitors,” said Cathy Behn, Clydesdale Breeders of the U.S.A. Executive Director. “It is a prime place to target learning and promoting a breed industry.”
Halter, hitching, and riding classes will also be available, along with showmanship, youth/novice decorating, youth judging and costume classes.
“The classes and seminars will not only be informational, but entertaining to watch these majestic Clydesdales perform,” said Behn. “The future of the Clydesdale industry depends on our youth and novices, so we are very excited to bring this new event to the Dane County Fair.”
Fairgoers are welcome to attend classes and seminars, which will be located in the New Holland Pavilions. For a full schedule of events, visit the Clydesdale Breeders of the U.S.A website at clydesusa.com.
