The "Jeremy Bigler" Scholarship was presented to Tessa Sheridan at Puempel's Olde Tavern during winter break. Tessa, the 2019 recipient, recently made the Dean's List at Berry College in Rome, GA. She is double majoring in Psychology and Studio Art, as well as double minoring in Creative Writing and Legal Studies. Tessa is also working with campus security and is involved in other volunteer activities, including mental health. She hopes to pursue a job in law enforcement after graduation.

Wyatt Taylor received the scholarship in 2018. Wyatt is currently at UW-Whitewater, but plans to transfer to UW-Madison in the fall of 2020. Wyatt also received Dean's List honors during his first two semesters. He is pursuing a degree in Information Technology with an emphasis on Networking and Security.

We are so very proud of these two worthy recipients and look forward to choosing a New Glarus senior for the 2020 award.

The scholarship was initiated in 2017, with the first "Go Bigs" Trivia Event in memory of Jeremy Bigler, manager of Puempel's Olde Tavern. Jeremy was known for his uncanny ability to carry on conversations with everyone. He was as comfortable speaking with the oldtimers as well as the many tourists who visited in the summer. He could talk about Puempel's and America, sports and music, Harry Potter and The Sons of Anarchy as well as everything in between, but avoided politics.

If you attend the next event which is scheduled for March 8, 2020, you will find that many of the questions are based on Jeremy's favorite subjects. For more information please check out the "Go Bigs" Facebook page or contact us at clbigler@gmail.com.
