Green County Cheese days has been held in Monroe for more than 100 years. The festival is held on third weekend in September on even numbered years. This year it was held September 14-16.

Cheese Days honors cheesemaking, dairy farming, and the Swiss traditions that are deeply rooted in the heritage of Green County.

The festival features parades, farm tours, music (Cheese Days even has its own song), a variety of local foods, and number of family friendly activities.
