Lt.Jeff Sturdevant, New Glarus Police Department; Chief Kristie Mueller, New Glarus Area EMS; Joanna Martinez, REACH-A-Child; Jackson Jones, Q106 and the Jackson's Community Action Fund; Theo Schmitt, Matt Schmitt, representing the New Glarus Fire Department; and Curtis Fuszard of REACH-A-Child.

Thanks to New Glarus Brewing Company, Jackson's Community Action Fund and REACH-A-Child, the New Glarus First Responders received a "REACH BAG" for each of their vehicles on Tuesday, June 5.

A REACH BAG is a durable backpack filled with new children's books and drawstring backpacks. First Responders use these resources to comfort children they encounter in crisis situations and distract them from the immediate trauma.

BAGs were presented at the New Glarus Police Department, the New Glarus Fire Department and the New Glarus Area EMS Station. These Departments will also receive hundreds of new children's books for community events being held later this year.

Started in 2007, REACH-A-Child continues its mission of providing a REACH BAG for every First Responder vehicle in Wisconsin. Currently, the entire fleet of Wisconsin State Patrol vehicles and dozens of Sheriff/Police/Fire/EMS Departments across the state carry REACH BAGS.

More information about REACH-A-Child is available on our website http://www.reachachild.org.
