2018-2019 Monticello Dairy Queen Candidate Sarah Blumer
Hello! My name is Sarah Blumer, and I am thrilled to be a 2018-2019 Monticello Dairy Queen candidate. My parents are Ron and Jen Blumer. I am currently a sophomore at Monticello High School, where I am involved in several clubs including FFA, FCCLA, Spanish Club, and Student Council. I am also very involved in high school athletics. The sports I participate in include volleyball, basketball, and golf.
I have had the pleasure and privilege of being raised in the rural community of Monticello, Wisconsin. As a result of my rural upbringing, I have been introduced to the agricultural industry and the Green County Ag Chest. Growing up in the rural community of Monticello has given me a strong foundation and commitment to service. From helping my dad at the fire station to helping my mom coordinate the Monticello Christmas Stocking Fund, I have learned to put others before myself. When I was younger, I was not very involved in the agricultural industry because I did not live on a farm. However, when the opportunity to show dairy cattle arose, I did not pass it up. I started showing dairy cattle four years ago. Throughout my participation in this activity and with my membership in FFA, I have been introduced to agriculture and have found a passion for this important industry.
If I had the honor of being selected as the new Monticello Dairy Queen, I would use the opportunity to further my knowledge about the dairy industry and Green County. In addition, serving as a Dairy Queen would give me the chance to share my passion for the agricultural industry with my community and county. It would also allow me to promote the Green County Ag Chest and all the wonderful things Green County offers residents and visitors. Becoming Monticello's Dairy Queen would truly be a tremendous honor and a life-changing experience. Thank you!
2018-2019 Monticello Dairy Queen Candidate Natalie Roe
Hello, my name is Natalie Roe, and I am excited to be a 2018-2019 Monticello Dairy Queen Candidate. I am the daughter of Dan and Sally Roe, and I have two brothers, Nick and Alex. We live on a grain farm just south of Monticello. I attend Monticello High School, where I am currently a freshman. I am very involved in extracurricular activities, with my favorites being FFA and FBLA. I am also an active participant in 4-H, as a member of Washington Center 4-H club for seven years. My favorite projects include swine, dairy, and dogs.
My passion, however, is dairy. I am an active member of the Wisconsin Junior Brown Swiss Association, as well as the Wisconsin Junior Holstein Association, where I have participated in dairy quiz bowl for the last four years. I have shown Brown Swiss since I was 9 years old. I enjoy going to multiple shows throughout the summer, as well as spending my time outside.
I was first introduced to the Green County Ag Chest when my family hosted the Breakfast on the Farm in 2014. It sparked my interest in educating the public about agriculture and Green County. I have enjoyed talking to people when I have shown at Green County Fair and Wisconsin State Fair, answering their questions about my heifer and the dairy industry. I feel strongly that becoming Dairy Queen would allow me to be an ambassador for both the agricultural industry and Green County. I have dreamed of being a Dairy Queen since I was young.
I am honored to be a 2018-2019 Monticello Dairy Queen Candidate. I would like to invite you to the Monticello Queen Crowning, which is on Friday, June 8th, at the Zwingli Church Summer Supper. I hope to see you there!
