The Belleville Elementary and Intermediate schools recently participated in a Penny War to help the Belleville Police Department celebrate National Police Week and raise money for the Mounted Patrol Unit. A total of $580 was raised to help defray the costs of training, feeding and vet care for the police horse, Monty. On Tuesday, May 16th, the winning class, the first graders, were treated with a visit from Monty (left).
