Haunticello Fest 2015

Fourth Annual Monticello High School Spanish and Art Club Fundraiser

Sue Moen

The Monticello High School Spanish and Art Club's annual fundraiser, Haunticello Fest, is back again this year, and it is shaping up to be the best one yet. For 2015, Haunticello Fest has moved out to the Marshall Bluff Bow Hunter's Club, located at 7326 Marshall Bluff Road. Juda's Spanish Club is also participating this year.

The fun starts at 5:30 p.m., on Saturday, October 31st, so when you're finished trick or treating, you can catch a bus from the school to Haunticello Fest. Buses from the school will start leaving at 5:30 p.m. and run every half hour. The last bus will leave the school at 8:30 p.m. and Marshall Bluff at 9:30 p.m. You can also drive your own car and park on-site.

When you arrive, you can participate in Halloween games and face painting until 10:00 p.m. At 6:00 p.m., the costume judging will take place. There are four categories this year: Ages 4 and under, K-5, 6-8 and HS/Adult. Winners will take home cash! From 6:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. you have two haunted trails to choose from; one is scary, one is not. Monticello's own Andy Yaun will be performing around the campfire from 7:00 p.m.

Tickets for Haunticello Fest are available at the school office, or at you can pay at the gate the day of the event. Children 4 and under are $3.00; ages 5-17 are $5.00 and ages 18 and older are $8.00. Ticket prices include all of the above activities. Haunticello Fest will happen, rain or shine.

A concession stand will be available with a hot dog dinner and brats for purchase.
