Dear Editor,

The Rabel family has asked for an audit of the special education department at the New Glarus School District. Many of you may feel this request is because of what happened to Nora, and the request is not that at all. We have our evidence, we don’t need any more and the civil lawsuit will judge those actions done by administrators and staff.

The Rabel family asked for the audit for the families you don’t know, who have reached out and are thankful someone finally stood up and said enough is enough. Some families you do not know because they moved away so their child could receive services before you got to know them. Others you do know and feel bad for but don’t know what to do in order to help them. If you have been in an IEP and have left in tears and confused as to why your child is not receiving help. Now is the time for you to email the school board and state your grievance and ask for the audit to go through so we can find out where we as a school and community can improve. We as a community thrive because of everyone in it not just those who fit into “the box”.
