Beware of False Political Flyers
October 15, 2020
Dear Editor,
I am deeply disappointed with a couple of recent Republican flyers in my mailbox, spewing falsehoods about Kriss Marion. The first is the silly one with fake words placed on Kriss’s truck to make her look bad.
However, the latest untrue Republican flyer has cursing and childish name calling. It deserves tossing right in the garbage.
We Kriss Marion supporters also live in the 51st District. We know her as a very special, upbeat person. Someone who loves meeting people and treats everyone with respect and enthusiasm.
This latest cheap Republican attack is not even funded by local people. The flyer shows funding by the Jobs First Coalition of Brookfield, Wisconsin. Brookfield is not the 51st District. Nor do these folks understand what matters here in rural SW Wisconsin. Like us, Kriss Marion lives here and understands what is important - fair funding for rural schools, better health care and family farms.
A little research shows the Jobs First Coalition is the dark money group that Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos’s wife works for.
The Wisconsin Examiner discovered, “This tax-exempt lobbying group with close ties to the Republican Party spent nearly $1 million to help elect 13 GOP lawmakers (including Todd Novak) in the 2016 and 2018 election cycles. It also failed to make the required IRS reports. In fact, the Campaign for Accountability complaint says, “The Jobs First Coalition reported to the IRS – under penalty of perjury – that it spent nothing on political campaign activities between 2016 and 2018.” (Source: https://wisconsinexaminer.com/2020/09/08/watchdog-outside-group-omitted-campaign-spending-on-gop-from-tax-return)
This kind of dirty politics must end. The 51st Assembly District needs Kriss Marion. Kriss has my vote. We deserve a hardworking, fair and honest representative.
