Informational Meetings to be Held in Monticello Regarding Referendum
September 27, 2018
To the Residents of the Village of Monticello,
First of all, I would like to thank you for your support during April’s non-binding referendum. 185-yes, 106-no.
On November 6th, we citizens will be voting on a binding referendum to allow our community to exceed its levy limit by $218,000 per year, for five years.
Prior to the April election, we held four meetings to inform the citizens of Monticello as to our needs here in the village. We will be holding two informational meetings to answer any questions that you may have and to inform you of some changes as to the appropriations of the revenues generated by ourselves in allowing us to exceed our State mandated levy limits.
The two meetings will be held at the Village Hall. One on Saturday, October 6th, at 1:00 p.m., the other at 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, October 10th.
If you have any questions or concerns, please be at one of these meetings.
John Teasdale,
Monticello Village Board member,
Chair of Public Works
