The exceptional quality of Alpine Boy™ meat products, produced by Gempeler's Supermarket, Monticello, was recognized at the 79th annual convention of the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors (WAMP) held in Madison in April. In the Meat Product Competition held during the convention, Gempeler's received three awards. In the specialty ring sausage category, their Ring Liver Sausage received the Grand Champion award.
