Dear Editor,
The Director of the Monticello Public Library, Sharon Briggs, will be retiring at the end of December this year. It will be the Library Board of Directors responsibility to hire her successor. Carolyn Seaver, the current Library Aid, has been in her position for over a decade. She has been Ms. Briggs’ assistant during all this time. In my opinion, Carolyn is the obvious person to be Ms. Briggs’ successor. She is fully qualified and has excellent credentials.
I hope all the patrons of the Monticello Public Library feel the same way I do and I urge you to make this known to the Library Board members, who are Anne Schultz, President; Steve Scanlan; Barb Durst; Ann Kaderly; and Ann Denure.
