New Glarus Area EMS Overwhelmed By Community Support
April 20, 2017
Dear Editor,
I’m writing to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible support that the New Glarus Area EMS received from the community following the recent passing of one of our long time members.
Mary Kay Zemlicka passed away in March, from injuries she suffered in a car crash while traveling with her family in California. Many in this area will remember Mary Kay’s smile and compassion in her 20 years as an emergency medical technician for New Glarus Area EMS. She left us too early, but left the world a better place. She was a true “people person” who genuinely enjoyed the company of others and looked for ways to make life just a little bit better for those who had the fortune to come into contact with her.
I am deeply grateful to the Honor Guard provided by the Professional Firefighters of Wisconsin and for Monroe (Green County) EMS for their help in covering our station during services. This ensured Mary Kay was honored and remembered the way she deserved, with heartfelt gratitude and respect for a life well-lived.
Sincerely,
Chief Kristie Mueller and New Glarus Area EMS Members
