Dear Editor,
On behalf of New Glarus Vision, Inc., our Gift of Community Committee, and the New Glarus Community Foundation, I would like to extend a hearty thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of our March 12th Gift of Community Reception.
Special thanks to the New Glarus Hotel Restaurant for hosting the event, to the Bank of New Glarus for their assistance with silent auction donations, to New Glarus’ Kinderchor for the use of their sound system, and to Larry Daehn, George Albright, and Heinz Mattmann for supplying music during the reception.
Because of the generosity of everyone who donated to our silent auction - and to those who purchased items - we raised $1,400 for our New Glarus Community Fund. Money contributed to the New Glarus Community Foundation – whether from the Silent Auction proceeds or from donations/pledges - go into a permanent endowment, the income from which is used to fund grants.
The New Glarus Community Foundation distributes grants to improve the quality in life in New Glarus. Projects funded by the Foundation have included public health/safety, cultural events, youth activities, historical preservation, and recreation/sports.
