Dear Editor,

I would like to thank all the participants of the Green County Historical Society’s Barn Inventory Project Photo Contest.

The idea was for a photo contest came from the Monticello Public Library. They graciously allowed us to invite the other Green County Libraries to join in. Monticello, Monroe, Belleville and Albany participated. Photos were entered and patrons chose a winner at each library. Dennis Dalton, professional photographer from Monroe, chose a county winner in the two classes, under 18 years of age and over 18 years of age.

The photos were varied and lovely. The Green County Historical Society’s Barn Inventory Project will be using the photos in future displays, some of which will be available for viewing at the upcoming Green County Fair.

The following is a list of the local winners in both categories:

Monroe: Over 18 - Lisa Beach; Under 18 - Matthew McCullogh.

Belleville: Over 18 - Marian Viney; Under 18 - Cameron Lewis.

Albany: Over 18 - Carol Bump; Under 18 - Hailey Seavert.

Monticello: Over 18 - Erin Goins.

County Winners: Over 18 – Monroe, Lisa Beach; Under 18 – Belleville, Cameron Lewis.
