Emergency Responders have a Busy Weekend
On Friday, November 6, 2015, at 9:06 a.m., the Dane County 911 Communications Center took a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries on CTH PB just north of Bell West Blvd., in the Village of Belleville.
A 1995 Chevrolet S-10 pickup was traveling northbound on CTH PB when the driver, identified as Christina Carroll, 49, Monroe, lost control and impacted a culvert and power pole. She was extricated from the vehicle by the Belleville Fire Department and flown to UW Hospital by MedFlight with serious injuries. A passenger, Malcolm Christian, 57, also of Monroe, was taken to UW Hospital by New Glarus Area EMS ambulance for minor injuries. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts and the airbags did not deploy.
The Belleville Police Department was assisted by the Belleville Fire Department, Belleville Area EMS, New Glarus Police, Fire, and EMS, the Dane County Sheriff's Office, and MedFlight.
The crash remains under investigation.
On Sunday, November 8, at 8:23 a.m., Green County Deputies, along with the Monticello Fire Department and New Glarus Area EMS, responded to the 500 block of E. Coates Avenue, in the Village of Monticello, for a vehicle vs cow crash.
Brad A. Putnam, 37, Albany, was eastbound on E. Coates Avenue when his vehicle collided with a cow in the roadway. Putnam was wearing his seatbelt and sustained injuries and was transported first by NGAEMS and then MedFlight from the UW Clinic near Belleville. Belleville Fire Department assisted with the Landing Zone.
According to the Green County Sheriff's Department, the vehicle received severe damages with no airbag deployment and was towed from the scene. The owner of the cow was identified as Jeffrey S. Zuber, 58, Monticello.
