New Glarus Utilities, the community's locally owned, not-for-profit electric utility, is celebrating 120 years.

New Glarus Utilities is a proud member-owner of WPPI Energy, a not-for-profit wholesale energy provider and joint action agency. The utility's milestone anniversary received recognition at an awards ceremony during the WPPI Energy Annual Meeting on September 15, 2022, in Middleton.

"I'd like to extend my congratulations and appreciation to New Glarus Utilities for 120 years of service to their community," said WPPI Energy CEO Mike Peters. "It's a significant milestone and we're happy to celebrate it with them today."

"Our utility is owned by the local community, and I think that's a big strength," said Kevin Funseth, Utility Line Crew Foreman with New Glarus Utilities. "This milestone anniversary gives us the opportunity to reflect both on what has brought us to this point and what we want to achieve in the future."

Supplying customers with a reliable, cost-efficient electric and water source is just one of New Glarus Utilities' goals. The utility's civic pride and commitment to excellent customer service extends to making New Glarus a better place to live and work.
