MPPM Mutual Insurance Breaks Ground for New Building in Monticello

On Monday, July 11, 2022, a groundbreaking was held for the new MPPM Mutual Insurance building in Monticello.
Mt. Pleasant Perry Middleton is one of Monticello's oldest businesses, at 146 years old. Mt. Pleasant Mutual Fire was established on May 27, 1876, with 26 policies. On January 1, 2020, Middleton Insurance Company merged into Mt. Pleasant Perry.
MPPM currently has around 3,400 policies and are currently located at 306 E. Lake Avenue. The current building was previously the Grace Evangelical United Brethren Church and Freitag Chiropractic. Their new building will be located at 239 N. Main Street and will be a 1-story, 3,200 square foot building. MPPM currently has a staff of five and is growing.
Their anticipated move in date is January 1, 2023. The groundbreaking was held in conjunction with both the Monticello and Monroe Chambers and the contractor for the project is Integra Construction LLC of Monticello.
