Seven young leaders in New Glarus are excitedly preparing for the national FCCLA STAR Events Competition in San Diego, CA, after qualifying at the state competition in April. Students Taking Action with Recognition (STAR) Events are events in which middle school and high school students may compete at the regional, state, and national levels. Recognition is given for students' proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills, and career preparation.

This year, Mrs. Julie Anderson, New Glarus Middle School and High School FCCLA Advisor, has mentored the students pictured and will continue to advise them as they prepare and execute their final presentations at the national level from June 29-July 3. The students are busy raising funds and are thankful for continued local support.

If you would like more information on the projects or would like to support these students as they represent the New Glarus Schools and community, please reach out to Elizabeth Lamb at jelambfam@gmail.com. Donations of any size will be helpful and much appreciated.
