The Green County Healthy Community Coalition (GCHCC) is excited to launch Self-Care Bingo, a month-long event meant to encourage community members to care for themselves, and explore our wonderful county.

This event began on May 1st and will run through May 25th, and community members will be able to complete activities on the bingo card at their own pace. Bingo cards are available to be picked up at the Green County YMCA or Monroe Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Bingo cards can also be downloaded from the Green County Health Community Coalition website at https://www.greencohcc.org. There are three different levels that participants have the option to complete. Level 1 includes completing 5 squares in a row (down, across, or diagonally), Level 2 includes completing all the squares on the border of the card, and Level 3 is completing all the squares on the card or cover-all.

Each level has a corresponding prize that community members who are 18 years of age and older and who submit their completed BINGO card are eligible to receive. Each level has a limit of 40 prizes, so prizes are only available while supplies last. The prize for Level 1 is a coupon for a local restaurant, the prize for Level 2 is an SSM Health water bottle, and the prize for Level 3 is a “Let’s Get Moo-ving” Green County t-shirt. Thank you to Colony Brands, Inc., SSM Health Monroe, Subway of Monroe, Jimmy John’s of Monroe, and Papa Murphy’s of Monroe for donating prizes!

Community members can turn in their bingo card between May 26th and June 1st at the Green County YMCA or the Monroe Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Bingo cards can also be submitted through email by emailing the front and back of your bingo card to healthy.community@ssmhealth.com. Individuals who complete Level 1 or Level will be able to pick up their prize when they submit their bingo card in person. Individuals who complete Level 3, and those who submit their bingo card over email, will be contacted to pick up their prize.

In addition to the activities on the bingo card, several local businesses have signed up to participate in this event and are offering free or discounted services throughout the month of May.
