Green County Master Gardener Association to Offer Scholarships

April 21, 2022

The Green County Master Gardener Association (GCMGA) will present scholarships to qualifying youth who are enrolled in secondary education in a horticulture related field of study. Applicants may attend a four-year University or a Technical College.

In order to apply for the scholarship, the applicant must be a graduate of a Green County area High School, or a Green County resident continuing their education after high school. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage individuals to take advantage of continuing educational opportunities in a field related to horticulture. The scholarships will be awarded after the student has successfully completed one semester of study and has sent the scholarship committee proof of re-enrollment for the next semester.

Requirements include completing an application, supplying the names and contact information of three references, giving a brief explanation of their need for this scholarship and the significance of its benefits to your future plans, including personal goals and objectives.

Up to $1,000 will be distributed annually at the discretion of the Green County Master Gardeners Association. Applications are due by April 30, 2022, and scholarship recipients will be announced in May of 2022.

For more information about the Green County Master Gardeners Association scholarship, or to obtain an application, contact Jackie McCarville, Ag Educator, at the Extension Green County Office at (608) 328-9440. The applications are also available on the Extension Green County website at https://green.extension.wisc.edu.
