On Saturday, July 17, 2021, a stone placement ceremony took place at The Highground Veterans Memorial Park near Neillsville, Wisconsin. Family and friends came to honor Don Funseth, of Belleville.

Don Funseth served in the Army in Vietnam from 1967-1968. He has always loved that The Highground was one of the first to recognize the sacrifice of Vietnam Veterans. The Highground is a beautiful place to visit at no cost, and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days per year.

Don and his family have taken many friends to The Highground, and all have found it a remarkable place that they had not known about. It's impossible to leave there without learning something new and having a sense of awe.

The Highground Veterans Park and Camp Victory is a 456-acre Veterans memorial park and retreat located in the hills of central Wisconsin. Founded in 1984, their mission is to honor, educate and heal. The park itself holds 12 memorials and a meditation garden, with tributes to servicemen and women from Vietnam, Korea and Persian Gulf, as well as women, nurses, Native American Veterans and more. Camp Victory is the site of trails and camping grounds, and is used for retreats for Veterans.
