Bald Eagle Watching North of New Glarus

November 26, 2020

Two Bald Eagles perched side by side in a tree north of the Village of New Glarus last week. While it not uncommon to see Bald Eagles in the area, they are still a majestic sight.

The day before this picture was taken there was an adult and a juvenile Bald Eagle in the same area.

Last year the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources counted 1,684 active Bald Eagle nests across the state. That number is a dramatic increase from just 108 in the 1970s. In 2019, the birds nested in every Wisconsin county except Milwaukee.
