Nelson Named National Merit Scholarship Winner

Recently, officials from the National Merit Scholarship Program (NMSC) announced the names of the 2020 scholarship winners. Adam Nelson, a senior from New Glarus High School, was named a National Merit Scholarship winner. Adam is one of 7,500 scholarship winners throughout the United States, and one of only 47 high school seniors in the state of Wisconsin to be awarded a scholarship in the second round. The scholarship is a one-time scholarship, and is worth $2,500.
Adam, the son of Michael and Fay Lundberg-Nelson, is a Co-Valedictorian at New Glarus High School. Adam has participated in cross country, track and field, Math team, KnIghT Crew, Camp Invention, band, jazz band, the school musical, National Honor Society, and the Academic Quiz Bowl team. Adam plans to attend Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME, in the fall and major in Mathematics. He is also planning to run cross country and run track as a Polar Bear.
