The Potting Shed Greenhouse is in its 13th year of providing beautiful plants for the Southern Wisconsin, Northern Illinois and beyond. A family-owned business since 2006, The Potting Shed in Monroe, WI, is a small, but growing, business.
It truly is a family affair. The Spotts family originated in Monroe, Michigan, where their extended family still owns greenhouses. Since moving to Wisconsin in 1991, Sandy would go back annually to get her plants from her sister. She decided to explore growing her own plants, and The Potting Shed greenhouse idea was born!
Though Sandy (John) Spotts is the meticulous tender of plants, her daughter, Amy (Adam) Lewis, is a key element to the beautifully potted creations, flower planning, and overall business organization. Preparation for the upcoming season begins starting in August of each year prior. With the help of her daughters-in-law, Tracy (Chad) and Amanda (Randy) Spotts, the crew runs an efficient operation starting in mid-April to mid-June. Plants arrive at the beginning of March. All the husbands, and even the grandkids, are helpers during planting, pot preparation, cleaning and support throughout the year.
You may already recognize The Potting Shed name for its many generous donations throughout the years supporting our community organizations within Green County. The Potting Shed provides a variety of quality annuals, perennials, decorative containers, garden art, and much more. You will surely see (and smell!) the love of these well-cared for plants the second you walk through the doors.
Although they are located off the beaten path, once you discover The Potting Shed, you will continue to return year after year for quality products and service.
