Belleville Elementary Students Celebrate Money Smart Week
April 25, 2019
On Wednesday, April 17th, students at Belleville Elementary celebrated Money Smart Week with the 6th Annual Big Read. The morning started off with Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions Secretary Kathy Blumenfeld stopping by to read Count on Pablo, a story that focused on counting and using the supplies at your disposal to make money. After the story the kids were given some gifts donated by local partners to start them on their road to a money smart future. The kids each received a copy of Count on Pablo (made possible by CBM Credit Education Foundation founder Bill Wilcox and his wife, Julie Porto), a small change bank (donated by UB&T Bank and Diane O'Connor), and a shiny dime (donated by Francois Ford).
Afterwards the kids returned to their classrooms to participate in money-themed lessons designed and led by BHS students under the guidance of Mr. Farrar.
Thank you to all who made this amazing event possible. #WildcatWay
