Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, April 14-20
April 18, 2019
The week of April 14-20, 2019, has been named by Governor Tony Evers as Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. In the proclamation, Evers said that the Public Safety Telecommunicators are a vital link to police, firefighters and emergency medical personnel.
New Glarus Area Emergency Medical Services Chief Kristie Mueller noted that the NGAEMS honors the men and women who keep all responders safe, on this Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
Mueller added, “Our 911 dispatchers are the first link in the chain of survival, answering calls for help, assisting those callers with life saving first aid and medical advice, and getting the right, quickest help on the way. Our dispatchers keep us safe by assessing emergency situations. They’re the lifeline for people in need and the bridge for Emergency Medical Services, Fire, and Police to coordinate responses and manage critical incidents. Thank you this week to all of our 911 dispatchers for all you do for our community.”
