Beekeeping Workshop Presented by the Sugar River Beekeepers

Join Dan Ziehli, Wisconsin State Bee Inspector, and the Sugar River Beekeepers for a FREE hands-on Beekeeping Basics workshop at the New Glarus High School Auditorium on Saturday, March 2, 2019. Sponsored by the Town of New Glarus Parks Commission, this is a getting started workshop presenting the initial steps for beginner beekeepers.
During this workshop, you will learn: Honey bee hive types and which is best suited to your hobby; What questions to ask when purchasing honey bees and equipment; Current beekeeping laws; Proper queen installation; Honey bee pest and disease identification.
In addition, you will participate in hands-on exercises to learn honey bee package installation, mixing honey bee feeds and proper bee medication application.
Capital Bee Supply will be on site with a display of beehive kits and beekeeping supplies.
Please join us on Saturday, March 2, 2019, from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., in the New Glarus High School Auditorium, 1701 2nd Street. This workshop is free to attend. No food will be provided – feel free to bring your own lunch.
