Bids Requested for New Belleville Library and Community Center

The Belleville Village Board, at their January 7, 2019, meeting voted to request construction bids for a new Library and Community Center.
Construction documents will be available to review starting January 10, 2019, at the Village Hall or online by registering at the BPI Color Portal at http://pdm.bpiinc.com. Bids will be opened on Thursday, February 7, 2019, at 3:00 p.m., at the Belleville Village Hall at 24 W. Main Street.
A pre-bid meeting for general contractors and subcontractors will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at the Belleville Public Library at 130 S. Vine Street. Contractors will be able to meet with representatives of the architectural firm, FEH Design, to ask questions and tour the site.
Local businesses who are interested in submitting bids as subcontractors are encouraged to attend the meeting to connect with general contractors and learn more about the project.
The village plans to build a 13,805 square foot Library and Community Center at 20 S. Park Street, across from Library Park. The facility will include a community room with kitchen area, training room, large area for preschoolers through teens, quiet reading and local history room, makerspace, study rooms, and public computers. There will be expanded floor space for materials shelving, comfortable seating, and library classes and programs for all ages.
