The Monticello Junior Class bid Aloha to everyone who attended their Luau themed Prom held on Saturday, April 21, 2018. Prom King was Cole Femrite and Prom Queen was Amber Mercado.

The Monticello Historical Society held "A Night at the Museum" on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at the Monticello Historical Museum, 204 N. Main Street. The public was invited to check out the Monticello Area Historical Society's new exhibit, "Monticello of Yesteryear" The exhibit includes many items that were donated by area residents. While enjoying the new exhibit, everyone was invited to enjoy wine and cheese.
The exceptional quality of Alpine Boy™ meat products, produced by Gempeler's Supermarket, Monticello, was recognized at the 79th annual convention of the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors (WAMP) held in Madison in April. In the Meat Product Competition held during the convention, Gempeler's received three awards.
Chloe Elmer was chosen as the Poppy Princess for Monticello this year, representing the Amstutz-Marty American Legion Post #256 of Monticello.
Monticello's Annual Spring Fling was held on May 19. There was music in the park, a kickball tournament, car show, garage sales and lots of great food, including the annual Monticello Fire Department Pork Barbecue. There was also the Monticello Lions Club's Cheese Curds and the Spanish Club's Pies. Monticello Ford and Ford Motor Company hosted Drive 4 UR School in the High School parking lot on the same day. Ford donated $20 per person to the Monticello FCCLA. Visitors also enjoyed music in the park by The Jimmys and Super Tuesday.
The Commencement Ceremony for the Monticello Class of 2018 was held on Saturday, May 26, 2018, in the Rehmstedt Gym.
The Green County Breakfast on the farm was held on Saturday, May 26, 2018, on the Danance Karlen Farm, W4876 County Road C, Monticello. The farm is owned and operated by Nancy Jo Karlen.

Congratulations to the Monticello High School Class of 2018! The Monticello Foundation, Inc. awarded $2,000 scholarships to these deserving graduates: Erin Lehr, Veronica Blumer, Karly Ready, Jonathan Errthum, Alaya Hummel and Isaac Smith. Generous donations allow the Monticello Foundation to continue to award scholarships to the graduates of Monticello High School. This brings the total amount of scholarships awarded to Monticello grads since 1995 to $345,750!
Members of the Monticello 6th grade class raised over $650 for the Green Cares Food Pantry by organizing an elementary and middle school Penny War and running a garage sale as part of the school's 2018 Community Day of Service.
Sarah Blumer was crowned the 2018-2019 Monticello Dairy Queen. Sarah is the daughter of Ron and Jen Blumer and attends Monticello High School.
The Monticello Area Historical Society sponsored an Open House at the Steinmann house at 554 S. Main Street, Monticello on June 24, 2018. The home is a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired "Prairie Style Craftsman" that has been restored by Jim Steinmann, grandson of the original builder.
The Monticello American Legion Amstutz-Marty Post #256 celebrated 99 years with a gathering and refreshments.
Green County Dairy Day was held in Monticello on June 23, 2018. Following Moo-Tails and the Queens Brunch, Brenna Meier, daughter of Bob and Chris Meier, Belleville, was named the 2018-2019 Green County Dairy Queen. Emily Makos, daughter of Eric and Jody Makos, Juda, was named 2018 -2019 Green County Dairy Princess. The day wrapped up with an Antique Tractor Pull on Main Street. Four individuals from the Monticello area were honored for their contributions to the dairy industry at the recently held Dairy Day Queens' Brunch. The Green County Agricultural Chest hosted the event and recognized the 2018 Oldest Active Dairy Couple, Don & Susan Halvorsen; Sr. Agri-business Woman, Sally Roe; and Jr. Ag-business Woman, Paige Dilley.

Monticello High School's Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2018 was held on May 26, 2018, in the Rehmstedt Gym.
Monticello's Annual Homecoming Celebration was held July 6-8. The weather was nearly perfect and people from around the area enjoyed the many activities and great food. The Monticello Community Club, with assistance from Kim Tschudy, the Wisconsin State Historical Society, the Monticello Area Historical Society, and memorabilia from local collectors, presented a WWI display in the lobby of the former Monticello Ford building at 120 W. North Avenue.
Claire Klossner accepted a check from Rick Nolden at Monticello Ford and Ford Motor Company for The Drive 4 UR School event that was held on May 19th. FCCLA was able to raise $980.00 for the chapter.

Carolyn Schwartzlow of Monticello Public Schools accepted a $350 check from Monticello Lion Nancy Elmer to go to the Student Assistance Fund. This fund is used to help school children who need school supplies or later on with hats, mittens, etc. This is the Lions way of "Stuffing the Bus" to support the District's school children.
Record rainfall was recorded around the area on Monday, August 20, 2018. The massive rains brought flooding, with streams and rivers overflowing their banks.
