Belleville School District Welcomes New Staff

New faces in the Belleville School District include (L-R): Rebecca Johnson, Samantha Johnson, Brenda Gocht, Joel Jacobs, Troy Granick, and Tonya Olson.

The 2018-2019 school year started on September 4th, and the Belleville School District wishes to welcome and introduce new staff members.

Rebecca Johnson

Rebecca Johnson is the new Director of Student Services and brings with her 18 years of experience. Rebecca originally hails from Portage and says, "I'm excited to be in the School District of Belleville because it is a family of educators that want to make a difference in the lives of our students. Everyone I have met so far has a smile and positive attitude about working in the district."

Samantha Johnson

Samantha Johnson, who is originally from Holmen, is the K-5 General Music Teacher. "The Belleville community welcomed me so quickly and fully last school year," she says. "There was no doubt that I wanted to continue to serve our students with the wonderful staff here. I'm excited to grow as an educator and help our children grow in their creativity and mindfulness of the universal language - music!" This is Samantha's second year teaching.

Brenda Gocht

Brenda Gocht will be serving as an Elementary School Secretary and is originally from Richland Center. With 10 years of experience, she says, "I am extremely excited for this opportunity to be part of great team of educators and be surrounded with the sound of children eager to learn."

Joel Jacobs

Joel Jacobs, a Belleville native, has been hired as a High School Special Education Teacher. Joel has three years of experience as a middle school para educator and five years of experience as a special education teacher in both middle and high school settings. Joel says, "It is both very exciting and humbling to return to my alma mater and have the opportunity to help our students learn, grow and achieve their academic goals and life dreams."

Troy Granick

Troy Granick, from Verona, is a student teacher in Physical Education at the elementary school. "I am extremely excited to get started in my teaching career. This will be my first experience of teaching full-time, and I am looking forward to it!" says Troy. "I am also looking forward to getting to know students and working with the staff here at Belleville Elementary School!"

Tonya Olson

Tonya Olson joins the district at the Elementary School Principal. Originally from Mayville, she now resides in Cottage Grove and has 25 years of experience. "I love the small-town atmosphere and the caring staff," she says. "The elementary school operates like a big family! It is very evident that children are at the forefront of every decision made in the district."
