A Gathering of Rogues and Ruffians-A Renaissance Faire, the annual fundraiser event held by Shakespeare on the Edge, has found a new home in Baraboo, WI.  The faire will be moving October 13 and 14, 2018, to the home of the Ringling Brothers Circus—Circus World.

Due to the fast growth of Rogues and Ruffians faire, Shakespeare on the Edge set out on a search from October through April to find a new venue for its annual fundraiser, that provides over fifty percent of its annual programming funds for exceptional programming for youth, teen and even adults throughout Green County and Southern Wisconsin.  From 2011 through 2017, Rogues and Ruffians faire was held at the Wilhelm Tell Grounds in New Glarus.

There were few venues that could accommodate the 10-15 acres needed for the faire and parking.  Rogues and Ruffians faire is projected to have an attendance of upwards of 5,000 patrons in 2018.

“While it was a very difficult decision to move from our home in Green County at the beautiful Wilhelm Tell Grounds, Shakespeare on the Edge has been welcomed by the City of Baraboo and Circus World.  We look forward to the growth and opportunities that Circus World will allow Rogues and Ruffians.  While our fundraiser faire has moved, our dedication to the families of Green County remains right here.  One hundred percent of all proceeds from A Gathering of Rogues and Ruffians comes back to Green County through the year round youth programming at Shakespeare on the Edge in Monroe.  The youth of Shakespeare on the Edge come first—we wanted our faire to have a chance to grow so we could continue to offer all that we do for Green County kids.  Our move to Circus World has been met with great excitement from our performers, vendors, patrons, and Shakespeare families.  We are so happy the City of Baraboo and Circus World are embracing us.” Bethel shared.
