Richard H. “Dick” Marty, age 86 of Monticello, died Monday, December 26, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. Dick was born on May 20, 1930, in Monroe, the son of John C. and Alma (Rufer) Marty.

HARRIET W. KLOSSNER

Harriet Wilma Klossner, age 85 of New Glarus, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at the New Glarus Home. She was born on October 1, 1931, in New Glarus and was raised by her adoptive parents, Gilbert and Jeanne (Meyer) Koprud.

ALMA E. NIMTZ

Alma E. Nimtz, 90 of Belvidere, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016, at Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL, after fighting stage four ovarian cancer since 1980. Born November 15, 1926, in Woodstock, IL, daughter of Oscar and Frieda (Koppen) Polnow.

Dee Wittwer, age 60 of Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. in Fitchburg. She was born on February 4, 1956, in Monroe, WI, to her parents, Robert and Joyce (Tschudy) Roth.

MARY LOU BOLLIG

Mary Lou (Fahey) Bollig, age 77 of Belleville, passed away peacefully at home on January 12, 2017. She was born May 28, 1939, at her grandparent’s home in Monticello, Wisconsin, to Robert and Palma (Marty) Fahey.

Moya Jeannine (Marshall, Narveson) Jackson was born March 26, 1934, to Dr. Stanley Marshall and Jeanette (Wallace) Marshall of Hollandale, WI. Moya passed away peacefully while visiting her daughter, Sarah (Narveson) Ortega, in Fayetteville, GA, on Sunday, November 27, 2016.

Miriam “Mickey” Gale Eye Blum, age 86, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017, following a 20-year struggle with Leukemia. She was born on May 26, 1930, in Miles City, MT, to Prof. Glen G. and Lucile Terry Eye.

Robert F. Beich, age 89 of Lodi, a former Belleville resident, passed away on January 22, 2017, at Haven Hills. He was born May 5, 1927, to his parents, Fredrick Beich and Gertrude Minch.

MARY L. DARROW

On August 15, 1933, the world stopped and Mary Lucille Trainor got on.  She was born to John and Josephine (Kelliher) Trainor. On Friday, January 20, 2017, the world stopped again and Mary got off.

Dolores E. Hanson, age 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Ingleside Manor, Mount Horeb, in the loving presence of her family. She was born on October 4, 1929, in Primrose Township, WI, to Thomas and Beulah (Rear) Slotten.

Clementine Grace Cohen was called to be one of God’s Little Angels shortly after she was born on February 2, 2017, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison to her parents, Anthony and Stacy (Ferris) Cohen.

Michael Sylvan Bidlingmaier, age 73, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017, at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe. He was born on April 29, 1943, to Sylvan and Margaret (Benkert) Bidlingmaier.

Kenneth Charles Remy, age 90, passed away at his home with his family on Saturday, February 4, 2017.  Ken was born on May 15, 1926, on the family farm in Belleville to Hubert and Minnie (Zuber) Remy.

Bruce Daniel Kiesling, age 36, passed away Friday, February 10, 2017, from Fungal Pneumonia. Bruce (Dan) was born August 8, 1980, in Madison to his parents, Ricky and Bruce Kiesling.

Dorothy Helen Etheridge, age 99 of Reedsburg, and a former Paoli area resident, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017, at the Casa de Oakes in Reedsburg. She was born on February 7, 1918, in the Town of Fitchburg to her parents, Fred and Louise (Warner) Haack.

Karen M. Zuber, age 82 of Monticello, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at her home. She was born on May 11, 1934, in Highland, WI, to her parents, Cecil and Alice (Nelson) Ayen.

Anna E. Klassy, age 97 of Belleville, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017, at Heartsong Assisted Living in Belleville. She was born on May 7, 1919, to her parents, Henry and Marie (Embaumgarten) Klassy, on the farm that she worked and called home most of her life.

Ruth Duerst, age 88 of New Glarus, left us on February 20, 2017, to play the golf courses of heaven with Paul, her beloved husband of 46 years. She was born on September 21, 1928, in the Town of Adams, the daughter of Oluf and Olga (Flattum) Stenbroten.

James A. Gorney, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at home in New Glarus, WI. He was born on June 30, 1930, in Chicago, IL, to his parents, James and Rose (Howitz) Gorney.

David E. Huebner, age 68 of Barneveld, formerly of Monticello, died Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville. Dave was born January 26, 1949, in Medford, WI, the son of the late Edgar and Margaret (Green) Huebner.

Diane S. Jones, age 54 of New Glarus, passed away on March 1, 2017, after a battle with Huntington’s Disease. She was born on December 6, 1962, in Fort Atkinson, WI, to her parents, Franklin and Barbara (Smith) Else.

Scott Alan Schulz, age 53, Belleville, comfortably passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at his home. He was born on March 14, 1963, in Monroe, to his parents, Raymond and Gladys (Stiklestad) Schulz.

Kris Gmür, of Geneva, Switzerland, was given rest and relief on March 13, 2017, when he passed away peacefully with his wife and his mother by his side, following a marathon differential diagnosis which began in December 2014. Kristopher John Gmür was born on October 25, 1973, in Green County, Wisconsin, to parents, Karl and Sheila.

Willy Ruef, age 77, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. He was born on May 9, 1939, in Switzerland to his parents, Wilhelm and Clara (Trachsel) Ruef, and in 1951 he and his family immigrated to the United States.

Betty D. Zentner, age 93 of New Glarus, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017, at the New Glarus Home. She was born on February 1, 1924, to her parents, William and Martha (Skogen) Frye, on their farm in Blue Valley.

Alfred W. Ufken, age 89 of New Glarus, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at his home. He was born on September 12, 1927, to his parents, Albert and Dora (Siegenthaler) Ufken at Marshall, MN.

NORMA JEAN BIRCHER

Norma Jean Bircher passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017, at the New Glarus Home, just days after celebrating her 90th birthday with family and friends. She was born on March 25, 1927, near Linden, WI, to her parents, A.C. and Genevieve (Kelly) Callin.

Betty Jean Quirk, 86, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017, from complications of dementia and pneumonia. She was born July 19, 1931, to John and Rose (Fina) Aiholzer in Milwaukee.

Harlen A. Duerst, age 87, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at the New Glarus Home. He was born on April 27, 1929, to his parents, Herbert and Edrie (Freitag) Duerst.

Daniel Edward Richardson, husband of Melissa Maas Richardson of Belleville, passed away on March 23, 2017, at age 40 at Hospice Het Vliethuys in Voorburg, Netherlands.  He was born on September 29, 1976, in Crewe, England, the son of Rev. Harvey and Carol Richardson.

After a long and hard fought battle with illness, Elmira (Mira), age 83, passed away peacefully with her loving family near her side on April 26, 2017. Mira was born on January 27, 1934, to Sidney and Wilhelmina Knight in Bloomingdale, IL.

Charlotte Rae Brauer, 87 of Belleville, formerly of New Glarus, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017.  She was born on March 13, 1930, to Charles J. and Susan (Schneider) Hoesly.

Earl R. Jacobson, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at the New Glarus Home. He was born on May 17, 1934, in Belleville to his parents, Jacob and Barbara (Urben) Jacobson.

Richard Warren Hartman, age 69 of New Glarus, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2017, at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI, surrounded by his family. Richard was born April 10, 1948, in Kenosha, WI, to Louis and Beverly Hartman.
