Belleville Hosts Science Olympiad

The Belleville teams did very well at their Science Olympiad Invite – the first that Belleville has hosted. They placed 2nd and 5th in the small school division. Twenty-eight teams and approximately 300 students competed from as far away as Medford, Boyceville and Menomonie.
On November 11th, Belleville hosted its 1st Science Olympiad Invite with a total of 28 teams and approximately 300 students competing. Teams traveled from as far as Medford, Boyceville, and Menomonie. Students were able to choose to compete in 28 different events, which cover all types of science and technology.

Overall the Belleville teams did very well, by placing 2nd and 5th in the small school division: Otto Anson and Riley Medenwald-1st Place in Chemistry Lab; Trevor Thole and Gianna Diaz-1st Place in Herpetology; Hansi Bartle and Connor Theis-1st Place in Materials Science; Noah Niesen and Logan Niesen-1st Place in Mission Possible; Gary Salmela and Gianna Diaz-1st Place in Rocks and Minerals; Otto Anson and Emma Anson-1st Place in Sustainable Energy; Otto Anson and Jack Nolden-1st Place in Thermodynamics; Cheyenne Koeppel and Lauren Theis-2nd in Anatomy and Physiology; Noah Niesen and Jack Nolden-2nd in Code Analysis; Riley Medenwald and Gary Salmela-2nd Place in Astronomy; Otto Anson and Emma Veeneman-2nd in Disease Detectives; Connor Theis and Josh Bowers-3rd Place in Hovercraft; Bryson Jelle and Tyler Beyer-3rd Place in Materials Science; Noah Niesen and Logan Niesen-3rd Place in Mousetrap Vehicle; Tyler Beyer and Jacob Kean-3rd Place in WiFi Lab; Roxana Grunenwald and Emma Veeneman-3rd Place in Write It/Do It.
