This October, the Behring Senior Center and the Monroe Public Library have partnered to present “Wall of Faces: A Face for Every Name,” a traveling exhibit from the Wisconsin Veterans Museum. This exhibit features a photo for each of the Wisconsinites named on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. The exhibit will be on display at the Monroe Public Library, 925 16th Avenue, from October 7th to the 28th.

To commemorate the exhibit, events will be held on Saturdays at the Monroe Public Library. The opening reception on Saturday, October 7, from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., features speaker Doug Bradley, author of We Gotta Get Out of This Place: The Soundtrack of the Vietnam War. Saturday, October 14, at 10:00 a.m., is an information session about Badger Honor Flight, connecting veterans to memorials erected in their honor.

Saturday, October 21, features speaker Carl Bogar on “The History of Women and Warfare and What the Future May Be,” at 2:00 p.m. Finally, at the closing reception on Saturday, October 28, Former State VFW Commander “Trapper” John Schultz will speak. In addition, each Friday the exhibit is open, “Taps” will be played on the library lawn at 6:00 p.m. to honor soldiers and veterans.
