Civil War Program to Be Presented

September 14, 2017

The New Glarus Public Library, in collaboration with the New Glarus Historical Society, is proud to welcome Wisconsin author Eric Schlehlein and his program “Forged in Blood: How the Iron Brigade Earned its Metallic Moniker.” This 40-minute program tells the story of more than three thousand Wisconsin boys, including New Glarus founder Fridolin Streiff, who served in the Iron Brigade during the Civil War. This brigade would suffer the highest casualties of any brigade during the Civil War.

The program will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Monday, September 18th, in the New Glarus Home Green Room, located at 600 2nd Avenue.

After the program, there will be time to talk with the author and purchase copies of Black Iron Mercy, a traditionally-published novel of the Civil War.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact the library at 527-2003.
