At a Special Meeting of the New Glarus Board of Education on April 17th, the Board appointed incumbent Travis Zimmerman to an open Board seat on a 6-0 vote.

The New Glarus School District was notified by the Wisconsin Elections Commission that there should have been three positions on the ballot, instead of two. Attorneys from the WI Elections Commission and WI Association of School Boards (WASB) explained that the election needed to continue as planned with two seats on the ballot.
