Charles Burton, 46, New Glarus, was killed on Saturday night in Florida, while attempting to cross Interstate 75.

A report on the Suwanee Democrat newspaper website said that Burton had left his vehicle and tried to cross the southbound lanes near mile marker 455, just north of the Jasper and Live Oak exit of I-75 when he was struck and killed.

It was further reported that according to the Florida Highway Patrol report, Burton’s vehicle was parked on the northbound side of the interstate. Charges are pending in the investigation the report states.
