The New Glarus Area EMS would like to express their deepest appreciation to Kay Zimmerman for becoming the service's first Nationally Certified Emergency Medical Responder. Kay completed her class in May of 2015 and went on to become Nationally Registered. In May of 2016 the State of Wisconsin approved utilizing EMRs as a legal member of the ambulance crew to assist with staffing. EMRs provide assistance to higher-level personnel at the scene of emergencies and during transport. Kay was recently honored with a plaque for her achievement.
