On February 1st, the students of New Glarus Elementary were treated to a fantastic performance by the touring group, Opera for the Young. The opera was "The Elixir of Love" by Donizetti. Sixteen fourth grade students also had the opportunity to perform with the opera professionals. They worked with their music teacher, Diane Bettin, to prepare the songs and dialogue, and then worked with the opera company for an hour before the show to learn all the blocking and dance steps. It was a wonderful cultural opportunity for all.
